Random Sweetness!

How sweet is this? Last week, I came back to my desk at work and there was a Michael Kors bag with a Michael Kors satchel bag in it. I questioned everyone and found out that my Director just saw and bought it because it matched my watch. No special occasion, just a random act of sweetness.
The pic isn't that great, but I LOVE it!!

In other news, my dress for New Year's Eve in New Orleans came in. I am soooo excited about it, because I've wanted this dress for months. The only problem was that it kept selling out before I could order it. Well, the other decided I had given up and was about to order a completely different dress. Well, they had ONE left in this dress!!! So I snatched it up. It was a little big, so it is getting altered as we speak!
IN LOVE!!!

Hope everyone is having the best holiday season!!!

Sweatin' to the Oldies!

This past Monday, I celebrated my 28th Seventh Anniversary of my 21st birthday. I have to admit that I was a little down about turning what feels like a much bigger number than I really am at heart. Hey, you're only as old as you feel. Right?? Well, aside from the whole "getting older" thing, it was a fabulous birthday. I'll break it down for you below.
Saturday morning, I got my hair dyed back dark. I'm loving it! After that, I forced Justin Justin let me open my present early. I have to say he did a wonderful job picking it out!
Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch! Perfect gift!!!
Saturday night, Justin, Jared, Jamie S. and I all went to Shucker's and a few other places to celebrate. Jamie gave me the prettiest bracelet! Wish I had a picture to share. You would all be jealous! We saw a lot of our other friends there and had soooo much fun!
Graham, Sara, me and Becca at Shucker's.
This is the only photo I have from the night. You can see my dark hair here. Since I lost my camera, I had to steal this from Sara's facebook photos. I wish I had a pic with Jamie S, because she looked so cute. A pic with Justin would have also been nice.
Sunday, we had a nice relaxing day around the house. Since Justin and my brother both killed deer on Saturday morning, we made a deer roast in the crock pot and deer poppers. My brother, Trey, and Jamie S. and Jared came over for dinner. (Funny thing, Justin's twin brother, Jared, also dates a girl named Jamie.)
This is me with Jamie. Great pic of her, not so much of greasy bear on the right. :)

Monday, I was off work (whoop, whoop) for my birthday! First of all, I was overwhelmed by all the sweet texts, calls and FB posts for my birthday. Just felt great that so many people wanted to wish me a happy day. For lunch, my sweet family took me out to eat at Georgia Blue and gave me sweet gifts. I had such a good time seeing all of them and hanging out with my nephews, Myers and Harris.

This is not from that day, but how cute are Harris and Myers dressed up for Halloween?
Monday night, Justin and I went to the movies to see J. Edgar. Not sure I would recommend it. It was a little weird. Funny story though, We brought our own snacks with us. (Hey, I never said we weren't cheap!) We got flashed with the red lightsaver wand by the movie guy for it. Luckily, they didn't kick us out, though!
Tuesday, it was back to work with a lunch planned with my sweet friend, Lindsey. I was so excited to eat with her at Sombra Mexican Kitchen. When I showed up, SURPRISE!!! My Jackson friends were there to help me celebrate!
Kelly, Lexie, Kristin, Baby Hudson, Lindsey, me and Kayla. There were Gigi's cupcakes and some really cute earrings from Kayla (sadly I haven't gotten a pic of those yet.) and a CUTE wreath from my friend, Lindsey, who designs for Sugar Plums.
My oh so cute wreath from Lindsey.

The delicious cupcakes!! My favorite is the one with the hat! He was so cute, I just had to eat him up.

Tuesday night, Justin's brother, Ross, came over to bring me sweet gifts from him and Justin's parents. I really enjoyed getting to visit with him, since he's not going to get to be at Thanksgiving on Thursday. After that, my sweet friends, Amanda and Katie, took me to dinner at Georgia Blue (Yes, I love that place. You must try the tamales!) I had such a great time catching up with these ladies, who I've been friends with since 8th grade. Yes, that's a long time! Pic to come soon from the dinner, but here's one of us from back in the day.
This is from Katie's bachelorette party. Check out those classy dresses!

Today? Well, today I'm working until noon. Then Justin and I are going to go have lunch with my parents before Thanksgiving. Tomorrow we are going to feast with Justin's family. I can't wait. Then I'll have a long weekend!

I can't tell you how thankful I am for the people in my life! I hope everyone has the best Turkey Day and eats way to much and laughs way to hard with their family and friends!!

Lots of love,
Jamie

Pinteresting Christmas Gifts

I'm not sure why, but my mind has been in complete Christmas mode lately. I always love thinking about what to get everyone. The perfect gift can bring a smile to someone's face in no time. So here goes with some gifts I've been thinking about this year.

For Kids
I have nephews, so these center around boys, but some could go for girls too.

How cute is this Baby's First Band Set? The parents might hate you, but the child will love it!

The Fish and Splash Boat for bathtime is only $19.00.

I love love love this Book Buggy to carry around all their little books.

I love this nap mat and pillow combo.

How cute is this for kids to give their Mommy and Daddy on Christmas Eve?

Happies
This category is for the gifts that you give to people around the office or those friends you want to do something for. These are gifts you can't spend TOO much money on, but you want to be super cute.

This is my all-time favorite "Happy" to give someone really any time of year. These mugs from Anthropologie are only $6 and you can stuff them with anything. I like to do hot chocolate and a pretty red bow for Christmas.

I love these burlap gift bags stuffed with holiday treats and tagged with a glitter letter.

This is a super cute way to wrap a cookbook with a dish towel and insert wooden spoons.

For Him
Buying for men can be hard. They always say they don't need anything, and everything they really do need is usually very expensive. Here are a couple of ideas.

This men's travel hanging toiletry bag is a great gift that a guy may not even know he needs. I would definitely add a monogram, just because I love a monogram.

How cool are these audio lightbulbs?? They are speakers that will wirelessly connect to your MAC, Ipod or Iphone and can plug into any light fixture. I'm keeping these in mind for Justin.

I originally got this idea from Callie over at the The Good Life, and we gave it to Justin's dad for his birthday. It's a book with recipes and stories from the best deer camps all over the south.

For Her
This section may have more of a selection; because well, I kinda consider myself an expert here. Hey, I'm a girl, so I at least know what this girl wants. And I'm willing to bet at least a few other girls out there want some of these too.

I'm obsessed with these grey riding boots from DSW for only $70.

Who doesn't love a Tory Burch purse?

Beautiful Michael Kors watch...

The same watch in Rose Gold.

That's it for me today. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Can I Be Your Friend?

Do you ever think about your online life? Well, it turns out that I do. I think about yours, mine and pretty much everyone's online life. Let me explain a little, before you start labeling me "creep." I was recently trained to do technology-based trainings for work. This means I've been researching and researching all the different uses and misuses of technology. It's absolutely crazy and downright scary some of the ways that technology can be misused. There's stalking, cyber-bullying, pornography, YOU NAME IT! So what, you may ask, is my conclusion? You might be surprised. My conclusion is that technology is wonderful and amazing. Strange? Let me finish here. HOWEVER... the people who choose to misuse it aren't so wonderful and amazing, so we have to be "in the know" with these things. Does this mean everyone should run out and get a tech degree or become experts on technology? Nope. Just means that everyone should think about the way they use technology and their online lives. Just be aware of privacy settings and what information you are giving out. So, after this preaching informative post, I'll leave you with this video. I love using this video in my trainings for a little humor and to get people thinking about just how strange their online life can be. Hope you enjoy...

Now, everyone go have a fabulous Wednesday and safe browsing to all!!

Pinteresting Christmas Decor

I've noticed a lot of my other bloggie friends doing these "Pinteresting" posts; and thought since I've been completely at a lack of ideas on what to blog about a little uninspired lately, I would give it a whirl. Question to any readers I may still have... Why is Pinterest so addictive?? I absolutely love it!
Source: google.com via Jamie on Pinterest
If you love Pinterest like I do, you will probably find these just as dead on amusing as I do.

On to today's theme. Since I've started getting excited about Christmas coming up, I figured I'd do today's post with a little Ho Ho Ho/Joy to the World/All is Calm All is Bright/Merry Merry Christmas theme. You get the point. BTW... "All is Calm All is Bright" is my absolute favorite Christmas saying. My Mom has is on a wall hanger in her guest bathroom; and every time I read it, it makes me feel calm and happy.

Growing up, Christmas was such a big event around the Harris household. It started right after Thanksgiving when my Mom would decorate the ENTIRE house with Christmas. No joke, our house became/still becomes a winter/snowman wonderland every year from about November to February. This comes complete with lights, multiple trees, snowmen galore, Christmas bedspreads, villiage scene, etc. Again, you get the point. As I'm getting to decorate my own space, I'm definitely finding my own holiday identity, but still taking some traditional decorating tips from my Mom and Grandmothers. So, here we go.

Christmas Trees
I love the rustic look of this tree.

Love the birds and burlap tags with chalkboard notes or photos.

Beautiful Linen Tree Skirt

Mantle Decor

Lace and Burlap Stockings

Beautiful!!

Love the stars.

I would love this on my mantle year-round, but how cute is it with a Christmas saying. Maybe even "All is Calm All is Bright"

Outside Decor
Would love these outside on steps leading to a porch.

So simple and pretty!

Beautiful wreath!

Stockings
Stockings are my favorite thing about Christmas. Growing up, we always had a stocking with our name on and one for each of the pets. Just love them!
Love the white with green stitching.

Love the blue trim, and the letters would be an easy DIY.

I love a bow.

I'm probably ordering these for us this year. The embellishment can be customized to be more "manly."

Misc.
How cute are these?

So pretty from Pottery Barn.

Would love to put some of these in my big glass vase in the center of my dining table.

This is probably the longest post I've written in a really long time! If you made it to the bottom, thanks so much for reading. I'd love to hear everyone's comments on what their favorite Christmas memory or thing is. Hope you all have a fabulous day!!
