What's Been Going On... Picture Style

I've been pretty busy with a lot going on lately, so I thought I'd do a photo update.

1. Last Wednesday was Lindsey's supper club at Fatsumo Sushi and Martini in Fondren; and since we love a double celebration, we also had a little fun for Kelly's birthday with some Gigi's Cupcakes.
{That's me with Kristin (Preggie), Kelly, Lexie, Kayla and Lindsey at Fatsumo's. The sushi was really great, and I'd recommend the Cajun Roll. Mmmm! Mmmm!}
Here are a few candids of everyone enjoying their cupcakes.

{Preggie and Not Preggie were hungry!}

2. Thursday after work, I headed up to Dixie Hills for a little Turkey Hunting with Justin. If you know me, you know that deer camp isn't really my favorite place; however, Justin is my favorite person. I sucked it up and had a good time. I don't have any pictures from that night, but Justin did kill one of these on Friday morning.
{2 down this season with 1 more to go for his limit!}
3. Friday night, I headed to Mudbugs to celebrate Brittany's birthday. I had a great time with lots of friends.

{Drea and Hughes}
4. Saturday was a fun boat day. I was excited that Justin came back from deer camp early and was able to join us.

5. Sunday was Easter, and Justin and I ate lunch with my family. No pics from this day. :(
6. Yesterday, I swung by my Mom and Dad's house to see my nephews, who were cute like always.
{Myers driving the tractor. How cute are those shoes?? He's such a big boy!}
{Baby Harris smiling in his bumbo. He's getting so much personality.}

That's it for today... Headed to Gulf Shores this weekend, so I should have very cute pics when I come back.

Do Not Be Afraid

Matthew 28:1-10

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you.
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

How telling is it that they were told twice not to be afraid? To me, that is such a powerful statement and part of why Easter means so much. Because of God's ultimate sacrafice, we don't have to be afraid. Because Jesus died for our sins, we can have eternal life. I hope everyone has a loving and wonderful Easter filled with comfort from fears and God's amazing grace.

Wednesday Already??

Is it Wednesday already??? Wow! Time is flying these days. Since I haven't posted in a while, just thought I would do a catch up blog on everything going on these days.

1. My Phi Mu little sis, friend and one of the sweetest people I know, Darah, just had a sweet, beautiful little girl on Monday in Hattiesburg. Luckily, I was in Hattiesburg for work yesterday and was able to swing by the hospital on my lunch to see sweet little Avery. Here's a pic that I stole from Darah's FB.
How cute is she??
2. Lindsey's supper club is tonight. Since she lives in Vicksburg, we are going to go eat in Jackson at Fatsumo's Sushi and Martini Bar. I can't wait to spend time with all my friends, plus Lindsey is spending the night with me. Can't wait!!
3. Kayla's Bachelorette Party is coming up next weekend, and I can't wait to head to the beach with my friends!!! It's going to be such a great time. Plus, I got a new swimsuit, so I'm pumped to debut it. Here's a pic of Kayla and her fiance', Seth.

4. I've added a few new things to the house since I last updated. I thought I would share some pics.
The mantle finally has some decoration. Jared's girlfriend, Jamie, gave us that picture that she had stored under her bed. I painted the frame, and it really made a difference. It was BRIGHT gold before, and now it's antique white. The candle holders are new from Simply Spaces in Madison. They really have great stuff.
The actual candles are from Walmart, and the shell ball is also from Simply Spaces.
That's one of the partridges that I have shown on my blog before. The other one is on the side shelf. I thought they looked better separated.
We got this Jute rug from Overstock. They really have great prices on things like that, and your whole order ships for $2.95. Can't beat that!

Finally, my new salt and pepper shakers that I also got from Simply Spaces. I am in love with these. Can you tell I like birds??

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday, and remember to be thankful to God for everything you have!!!

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what is one food that, as an adult you love, but as a child you said you’d never touch?

I HATED onions as a child. Now, I love to eat them if they're cooked.

{two} did you go to college? if yes, what was your major?
I majored in Communications at Mississippi State University

{three} what’s the most wild animal you’ve seen in real life (not counting the zoo)?
A lion getting his teeth cleaned when I worked at the vet school at MSU

{four} have you ever been to a fortune teller?
No, but I would love to do this. I don't really believe in them, but it would be interesting to hear what they had to say.

{five} can you juggle?
I'm completely uncoordinated and unathletic, so though I've never tried, I'm going to go with no.
{six} hardwood floors or carpet?
Hardwood for sure!!
{seven} is it called “soda” or “pop”?
Neither, I call them all "coke." I think it a southern thing. When a friend comes over, it goes a little something like this...
Friend: "Can I have a coke?"
Me: "Sure, what kind?"
Friend: "Dr. Pepper"

{eight} what was your first car?
Although I am embarassed to put this in print, a 1999 White Chevy Cavalier with manual everything.

{nine} what is the most decadent dessert you’ve ever eaten?
I don't really do desserts, but I'm going to guess my sister's wedding cake. It was the best cake I've ever eaten.

{ten} how often do you rearrange your furniture?
Not very often because the set-up of our rooms doesn't give us very many options.

Happy Wednesday Everyone
Jamie

Happy Birthday Buckaroo!

Last Thursday, sweet baby Myers turned two years old!!! I can't believe how big he's gotten. He talks so well and is so smart. He's also so independent. I just love him pieces!!! Here are a few pictures from his "Buckaroo" themed birthday party at Reunion Stables.
