The View

This is the view I'm looking at right now...
I'm leaned back in a chair at Peachtree Tower just waiting on 5 so I can head to the airport. Bored doesn't even begin to describe it, so I thought I'd share my view with everyone.

Happy Thursday!

Tuesday Thoughts!

Happy Tuesday from Atlanta, Georgia everyone!! Here are my thoughts for the day...

1. I want to start this post with a special prayer request for my Gran-sis, Abby Troxler's new little baby boy, Baker. Abby and her husband, Drew, are facing health problems with their new baby and need everyone's prayers for a miracle. I can't imagine what they are going through, but know that God is more than capable of taking care of them. He is the great physician!
2. I'm no longer apologizing for my lack of frequent blogging. Would I love to blog more often? Yes. Do I feel a little guilty when I don't do it very often? Yes. Do I think you care enough for me to apologize about it at the start of every post? Absolutely not! I'm sure it's just annoying. So with no apologies, I continue my thoughts.
3. I'm in Atlanta for the week for work, so I'm kinda missing home a little. I would, however, like to point out some positives about my ATL experience. 1) I'm staying at the Ritz Carlton downtown, and I certainly can't complain about that. The staff is amazing and see my photos below of my room. 2) I get to have dinner tomorrow night with my friend, Julia. I can't wait to catch up with one of my favorite friends that I don't see very often. 3) The Philadelphia 76's are in town to play the Atlanta Hawks tonight, and they are staying in the same hotel. I saw a couple of players in the elevator, and the conversation went a little like this...
Philadelphia 76er: "How are you today? What floor?"
Jamie: "3. You play for the 76ers."
Philadelphia 76er: "Yes, and who do you play for?"
Jamie: "The Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault"
Philadelphia 76er: (Loud Laughter) "I'm not familiar with that team."
Jamie: (Embarassed) "Well, good luck in your game."
They were very nice NBA Basketball players. Now I'm just looking for some Real Housewives of Atlanta.

4. We moved in on Friday, and there is so much left to do and buy. I swear I spent so much money at Walmart and don't even feel like I got anything. I'm looking forward to decorating having some money to decorate. I guess the being poor thing is all a part of it. Oh, and Justin has started referring to me as his roommate. For instance on the phone, "Hold on, I'm talking to my roommate." Whatever works.
The only shot I have of the house... Empty!!

Happy Tuesday, Y'all!

Dinner Time

Last night, I cooked dinner for my brother and Justin. I can't take full credit for this recipe, because my friend, Brittany, made a similar dish for me when I went to stay with her last week. She and her husband, Robert, were so gracious and wonderful hosts for my night on the coast. The bread recipe, I also got from my friend Emilie. It is so unhealthy, but it's delicious. Here you go.
{Note: This is not the actual pasta I made, but it looks a lot like it.}

Garlic Shrimp Pasta
12 oz Angel Hair Pasta
½ Stick Butter
Salt and Pepper
Olive Oil
2 Cloves Garlic (separated, peeled and chopped)
1 Pound Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 Cans Diced Tomatoes in Juice
½ Cup Dry White Wine (I used Sauvignon Blanc)
1 ½ Tablespoons Chopped Basil
¼ Cup Chopped Parsley
Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Boil pasta in water with butter and salt; then drain. While pasta is cooking, thinly coat a large skillet with olive oil and heat over medium temp. Once skillet is heated, add garlic and continuously stir until tender (about 1 minute). Do not burn garlic. Add shrimp (lightly seasoned with salt and pepper) and toss around in skillet until pink (about 3-5 minutes). Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside. Add diced tomatoes, wine, basil and parsley to skillet over medium high temp. Bring sauce mixture to a light boil, stirring occasionally until liquid is reduced by half (about 8-12 minutes). Add shrimp back to skillet and toss around until heated through. Serve sauce and shrimp mixture over pasta and top with parmesan cheese.

Creamy Garlic Bread
1 Loaf French Bread
1 Stick Butter (softened)
1/3 Cup Mayonnaise
1/3 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
Grated Parmesan Cheese
Chopped Parsley

Set oven to Broil. Slice French bread into 1 inch slices and place on covered baking dish. In a bowl, mix butter, mayo, garlic powder, a few good shakes of parmesan cheese and a couple of sprinkles of chopped parsley. Stir until creamy and spread on top side of bread slices. Place in oven about 8-10 minutes or until bread is toasted on sides.

Hope you all try this one and enjoy!

Join the Club

I've decided to join the Sam's Club in order to save on groceries and household items. My old roommate, Meredith, had a membership and seemed to save so much on things like toilet paper, paper towels and garbage bags. Since saving is the name of my game lately, I've decided to join the club. I figure that I at least need to save more than $40 (the price of membership) per year in order for it to be worth it.
What I want to know from my blog readers is this... What good deals should I be looking for at Sam's? What are some tips for navigating the store? What should a seasoned Sam's Club member know? Let me know what you think. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Moving In and On

Justin and I finally found a place to live. Now to all of you this may sound like no big deal, but to me this has been a long time coming. I'm so ready to move in and on to this stage of my life. As this stage comes, I also promise to blog more often. In this blog post, I am proud to introduce everyone to our new kitchen table and chairs that we bought at the Flowood Flea Market. I am obsessed with this place. They have GREAT stuff at very reasonable prices.So without further adieu, I present her to you...

Merry/Happy Christmas/Birthday/New Year

As I said before, I have a lot to catch up with on my blog. I'm going to roll Christmas, Justin's birthday and New Year all into one post. I had a wonderful holiday season, with the best gift of all (a new nephew)!! I followed up Christmas with Justin, Jared (Justin's twin brother) and Nick's (one of their best friends) birthday parties. Afterwards, it was on to New Year Eve. I think the best way to tell the story is with pictures, so here goes...
{Family photo including: Trey, Matt, Myers, Kacey, me and Justin}

{I also saw my parents' neighbors, Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Robin.}
{I'll leave you with this sweet picture of Harris that I stole from my sister's profile.}

Harris Matthew Ginn

I've got a lot to catch up on on here. I figured I would start with my favorite catchup, the birth of my sweet new little baby nephew. First, let me say that he is an absolute angel just like his big brother. He arrived as cute as ever at the exact same weight and length as his big brother too. Here are a few pictures...
