Dear Hudson...

Dear Hudson,
You are one lucky boy. You have more clothes and toys before you've even gotten here than I have right now.
Love,
Super Jelly Belly
Aunt Nee Nee
We had a shower for Kristin this weekend, and it was so much fun to be able to celebrate and spoil this sweet baby boy. I just love him so much already. My mom was sweet enough to let us use her house, and the shower went wonderfully, if I say so myself. We went with a theme of rustic outdoorsy/sweet frilly little boy. This is pretty much the perfect mix of this little bambino's parents. The party details and pics are below.
{The invitation that we had designed on Etsy. We also had the shop design matching toile circles alternating with his name, monogram and blank for cupcake toppers and food labels. I recommend using Etsy to anyone. It's wonderful. They will edit the design as much as you want, and you have them printed yourself.}
{This is a wreath from my house that I added an "H" to. Pretty easy, and I think I'm going to add some other stuff to it for different holidays or times of year.}
{The welcome table where guests could leave a note for Kristin and Hudson. I'm obsessed with glass jars used as candle holders or really for anything you can think of. They are just so versatile. The wooden thing around them is just a wood frame that I bought at Hobby Lobby and have leaning against my shelves at my house. The birdies are from my mantle.}
{The instructions for the "wish bowl."}
{Lizzy made this baby carriage out of diapers, and we used it as a centerpiece for the gift table. Such a cute twist on the usual diaper cake.}
{Sweet Hudson's banner}
{Sweet Hudson's banner and his Mommy}
{The food table with all the wonderful food everyone made including fruit and dip, sausage cups, pigs in a blanket, yogurt pretzels, BLT dip, cake pops and mini cupcakes. You can't see it very well, but we made the food labels out of adding the blank toile circles to the tops of the glass jars with the food names scripted on top.}
{The mini cupcakes with the cupcake toppers just taped to toothpicks.}
{The cake pops that Amy Grace and I made. If you would like the instructions on how to do them, just let me know. I will warn you, though, they are time consuming and tedious.}
{The drink table with with delicious Sangria that Kimberly made. Also, there was water with lots of lemon, as requested by the Mommy. The straws are also from Etsy. Did I mention I love Etsy??}
{Closeup of the cutesy straws.}
{All of the hostesses, who were so sweet and did so much for the party. If you look close, there are three buns in the oven in this pic.}
{Last one... Pic with the Mommy to be. Fun Fact: This is also the photo debut of my new haircut.}
Have a great week, and I love you, Hudson!!!

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what is your dream job?
My dream job would be to work for myself. I would love to have some sort of retail store.

{two} how many best friends do you have?
I actually have a lot of really close friends. Best friends? I'd say only two, and I talk to them every day.

{three} what's the longest road trip you've ever taken?
In fifth grade, my school took all of us to Washington D.C. in a charter bus. Ummm?? How crazy did these people have to be to take 75 fifth graders on that long of a trip. It was fun, but also miserable. I'm pretty sure the next year my mom paid my brother not to go on the trip after going with me.

{four} if you had to do one thing every day for the next year, what would it be?
Wow. This is a hard one for me, and I came up with the question. I would probably go walk around at the flea market. In reality, it's only open two days per week, but I would love to be able to browse every day. I just love all the cool stuff. It would also be nice if I had money to spend all of these times. Just throwing that in there.

{five} what's one story your family always tells about you?
Ok... I may be embarassing myself and even my family here, but I do love this story. My brother and I are really close in age, and we were in diapers at the same time. One night, my mom was changing us and said she noticed that I was confused about the "difference" between me and Trey. Then I asked, "Why does Trey get a booty stick and I don't?" I absolutely love that story for some reason. Now I'm starting to feel like a creep, so on to the next question.

{six} how did your parents pick your name?
My aunt's name is Jamie Michele, and my mom's name is Mala ReNee'. That's how I became Jamie ReNee'.

{seven} what's one thing that scares you more than anything?
I'm really scared of something happening to someone I care about. That would be the worst thing ever!

{eight} are you a good cook?
I like to think that I am. Most people don't complain about my cooking, but there have been a few things I've made that haven't been good. I am trying to cook a little healthier these days, though.

{nine} where do you see yourself in 20 years?
In 20 years, I'll be 47 years old. WOW!!! At that time, I hope Justin and I are raising our child and getting ready to get him/her out of the house :)

{ten} what's your best childhood memory?
I have a lot of great memories from childhood. If I had to pick just one, I would have to go with playing baseball in the yard. Between ours and our neighbor's house, we had a full fledged baseball field. My dad and one of our neighbor's were high school baseball coaches together, and our other neighbor was the baseball coach at the local community college. Baseball was just what we did, and we had so much fun doing it. Now, don't get me wrong here. I was NOT good by any stretch of the imagination, but I was having fun. They would even give me 4 strikes sometimes if they felt like being nice.

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!!

Happenings!

I have been so bad about posting lately. I'd even dare to say that I have neglected my blog and any readers that I may have. Well, I apologize. This girl has been a little busy lately. I've been to Alabama, Georgia and everywhere around here. Thought I would jump back into my blogging with a little post about what's been happening lately with me!!

1. Planning for Kristin and baby Hudson's shower is moving right along. I finally got the invitations in the mail, along with making some of the decorations. Banner, check. Cupcake Toppers, semi-check. Door wreath, only the concept is a check. This is probably going to be the best one I've done yet. Just so many new ideas, and I want it to be soooo perfect!!

2. Supper Club this month was so much fun. We all just went to eat at Babalu. The food was great, and the company was even better!!!
{Preggie, Kelly, Jamie, Lindsey, Jennifer, Kayla}

3. The Viking Classic has been in town, and we've been lucky enough to have Eagle's Nest tickets. Now, this is the life folks! I'm not a huge golf fan, but if I have to be there, a big airconditioned tent with free food and drinks is the way to do it. Thanks for that, Viking!! What am I not thanking Viking for, you may ask?? Well, you know when you go out and walk the course with all those beautiful flowers as scenery? Well, those puppies don't grow themselves, and they certainly don't water and maintain themselves. This is where Justin comes in. Problem? He has to do this at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. Whooo Hoo!! That means I get to wake up in the middle of the night to make sure that he is up and off. I know how tired it has made me, so I can't imagine how tired he must be. Thank goodness that's over!!

4. I've gotten my hair cut off!! NO, this is not a dramatic statement. I think it was about 6 inches, and it's a lot darker. I'm getting used to it, but I really like it. Most people seem to like it better too. Even Justin says he thinks he likes it better, which is very surprising to me. I don't have a good picture yet, so I'll give you a preview of the picture I took in to get my hair cut with. Whitney at LaCru did a great job, even though I think she was just as scared to cut it as I was. I'm pretty sure she just didn't want any tears in her chair!! If you're looking for someone to cut or color your hair, you should definitely go see her!!

5. I'm just going to leave you all with this picture from my Mom's Facebook. I can't think of anything cuter in the world that these precious babies taking nap!!
{Myers is just getting so grown up, and please look at Harris's sweet roly poly legs!! I could just eat them up!!}

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!!!!!

Can I just tell you how much I love being an American. Happy Birthday to the place I've called home my entire life; a nation under and trusting of God; the place that has given me freedom and opportunity and so much more. Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} what color best describes you + why?
I think a really bright green describes me right now. I'm pretty happy and bright in my life right now.
{two} how have you changed in the past year?
Wow, I think I've changed a lot in the past year. I have grown up a lot and found the person that I am going to marry. I've also learned to let go of a lot of things and people that aren't positive in my life.

{three} have you ever had any surgeries?
Yes

{four} why did you start your blog?
I loved reading other people's blogs so much that I thought it might be fun. It really has a been a good outlet for me in so many ways.

{five} what are you looking forward to this summer?
I'm most looking forward to being out in the sun. I love the pool and the boat. Second, I guess I'd have to say our girls beach trip coming up. This is such a fun time with all my college friends.
{six} do you have any family traditions for the 4th of July?
Not really. My only tradition is to try to do something in the sun.

{seven} what’s something new that you’ve tried in the past few months?
I've really been trying to learn more about plants and how to take care of them. I've got an expert living with me, so why not.
{eight} what is the perfect a/c temperature?
Something warm. I freeze all the time.

{nine} what was the last movie you saw in the theater?
I saw Hangover 2 in the Starkville theater with my friend, Krista, and her friend, Katlin. Side note here: I got to stay in the old trailor park while I was there and hang with college kids. They were so gracious to hang out with someone as ancient as me, and I felt really old. As old as I felt though, I had a blast and got some tips on how to be trendy from these stylish ladies!! I can't say enough about how funny Krista and her friend are, and I wouldn't eat Taco Bell in a trailor park with anyone else.

{ten} what song do you think everyone should hear at least once?
This is such a hard one for me. I'm going to say Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. Just a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics. So many people have done such wonderful covers of it too. A close second would be Lost by Anouk.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Wee Bit Wednesday

{one} how many times have you been a bridesmaid/maid of honor?
I've been maid of honor twice. Once in my sister's wedding and once in my friend, Katie's wedding. Both were really fun to help with. I've been a bridesmaid 4 other times. I was in my friend Stephanie's first, followed by Alison, Lindsey and Kristin. That's a lot of bridesmaids dresses. I've also been my friend Kelly and my friend Wally's proxy bride.

{two} what’s the last thing your do before you fall asleep at night?
Right before I close my eyes, I plug in my phone to the charger and set my alarm.

{three} you just won your dream vacation, all expenses paid. where are you going?
I'm headed straight to Greece. How beautiful is that place? I'm embarassed to admit this, but I fell in love with it when I watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

{four} what is your favorite outdoor activity?
Going out on the boat or helping Justin do yard work. Honestly, I mostly just watch. "Help" probably wouldn't be the word for it.

{five} as a child, what did you want to “be when you grew up”? did you end up there?
I remember wanting to be a nurse for a while, then a psychologist. I work for a non-profit, so I didn't really come close to either of those.

{six} what are 3 things your dream home would have that you don’t currently have?
Since we are currently in a rental, this list could go on and on. The first would have to be a central vac. My parents have one of these. Your vaccuum just plugs up to the wall in every room. Also in the kitchen, there's this thing under the cabinet ledge that just sucks up all the dirt you sweep. No more scooper. How sweet is that? The next thing would be a lot of land for Justin. I don't think he would care what our house looked like if we lived on a lot of land. The last thing would probably be a really big shower with a steam room. I just love those.

{seven} what’s for dinner tonight?
Well, right now there is a roast in the crock pot with potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and gravy. When I get home, I'm going to make some rice, black eyed peas, okra and rolls. We are having some friends over for dinner. I just love cooking for people.

{eight} if someone stopped by your house unannounced on a typical Saturday night, what would they find you doing?
If we were there, we would probably be on the couch watching TV or a movie. We're usually out of town or out somewhere, though.

{nine} what’s your average monthly water bill?
Ours is diffent from month to month, because every other month we pay for sanitation and some other things. One month it will be around $20, and the next it's about $118.

{ten} what do you do to relax?
I like to lay out by the pool or go on the boat. Sometimes I'll just read my kindle or take a nap.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!
Jamie
